Carrio: “Among the opposition candidates, we were the worst positioned”

City of Buenos Aires, August 15, 2011

The head of the Civic Coalition, Elisa “Lilita” Carrio, gave a press conference in which she referred to the outcome of the primaries. She acknowledged their poor performance, but said she will not abandon politics.

“I am the leader of this force and have been for over 10 years and the victory belongs to me. The election act, unlike others, was clear and transparent. Argentina voted in peace. This is very important”

“Among the opposition candidates, we were the worst positioned, and that was due to the role I had to take more than 18 years.”

“I will not leave politics, I will accompany a my party. I’ll be where I’m needed. Until the last day of my life, I will fight for the same values, no matter if I am voted or not.”
