Buenos Aires City: Those who do not vote in the Primaries will not vote on October
City of Buenos Aires, August 9, 2011
Judge Maria Servini de Cubria, the head of the electoral Justice of the City of Buenos Aires, issued a resolution in which she requires every citizen to vote on August 14. It is to ensure mass participation in order for smaller groups to get the 1.5% needed to be in the general elections.
The Judge has ordered that those who do not vote in the primaries will not be able to conduct proceedings before the State for a year and hold office for over 1000 days.
The objective is to guarantee greater participation in order for smaller groups to reach the floor of 1.5% of the voters to appear on the general elections.
