Buenos Aires, August 2, 2011
President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner received Uruguay president Jose Pepe Mujica in Casa Rosada and announced that after 30 years a train will unite Argentina and Uruguay again.
Again, the argentine railway will cross Uruguay river”, the president said. The first journey will take place on August 29 and will unite Concordia and Salto city, M24Digtal reported.
“You have to wait for me Pepe and with a flower bouquet” Cristina joked when said that the measure was marvelous.
For his part Mujica said “the hits, the necessity, and the failures have taught us that we can not ignore the neighbors”,
“Aware or not, we are building a collective that was the dream of liberators but it couldn’t be because every port was unlinked” the president added.
“Now we must recover the identity to defend ourselves in a world that is narrower every day” he assured.
