Japón: Quake of 6,4 in the Ritcher scale shook the coasts of Fukushima

Japan, July 31, 2011

This Saturday, northern Japan was shaken by an earthquake of 6.4 magnitude on the Richter scale. There was not reported damage or tsunami alerts issued yet.

The epicenter was located off the coast of Fukushima province at a depth of 40 km and occurred at 03:54 am local time.

NHK television said, “The operator of the nuclear plant in Fukushima Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO), who was tragically affected by the devastating tsunami of March 11, is evaluating whether the current earthquake caused an anomaly, but for the moment was not reported any harm”.
