Air France accident occurred for pilots’ errors, BEA said

France, July 29, 2011
BEA authorities said on Friday that the Air France jet accident occurred on June 1, 2009 took place due to inexplicable errors from a junior pilot.
The crew ignored several warnings that the plane gave regarding the lost of altitude and didn’t follow the procedures indicated by the manuals.
The pilots didn’t act accurately before the plane troubles. In particular, before the speed sensors lost as they were not trained for this type of eventuality, BEA said.
Junior pilot Pierre-Cedric Bonin, 32, couldn’t handle the situation while Captain Marc Dubois, 58, was taken a break.
Now, BEA recommends mandatory trainings to pilots in the middle of an aerodynamic failure at high altitude. They should be prepared to flight the aircraft manually in such circumstances.
