“Grondona is one of the most important football heads of the world, but there should be changes”
City of Buenos Aires, July 27, 2011
Those were the statements of Chief of Government of the City of Buenos Aires Mauricio Macri on the decision of the AFA to create a new tournament. He said the head of the institution Julio Grondona is one of the most relevant football heads of the world, but that there should be a rechange.
“[Grondona] is one of the most important football heads of the world”, he said, but adedd that “there should be changes” in the Argentine Football Association (AFA).
He also showed concern about “the use of football in politics”, but stated that he has “no idea” of the motives of it. Funny of him, since he used to be the President of the Boca Juniors Club.
