The Iranian Government wants to collaborate with Argentina in the AMIA case

Argentina, July 17, 2011

Today, Héctor Timerman, Argentine Foreign Minister, said that “if the Iranian Government confirms the statements published by the international press, it would be an unprecedented and very positive step forward for our country”. The Publications that travel around the globe say that Iran intends to cooperate with the Argentine government to clarify the case of the AMIA bombing and establish a constructive dialogue.

Timerman said he will wait for official confirmation from the Iranian government to advance in international relations.

Speaking to the press, Timerman said that “it represents a positive step forward, because the law and justice are the only way to combat terrorism”.

Yesterday, Iran had communicated through an official bulletin that it “condemns all terrorist actions, especially the one against the Jewish mutual in Argentina in 1994 and declared solidarity with the families of the victims”.

Argentina demands the extradition of officials presumed to be involved in the attack for 17 years tomorrow.
