Gendarmerie and Prefecture against crime wave

Security Minster Nilda Garre announced the start of the plan called “Cinturon Sur” that unites the forcers of Gendarmerie and Prefecture to fight against crime wave in the south of Buenos Aires city.

The operation will set gendarmes and prefects in patrol works as well as preventions tasks. The police will have in six satiations located in the neighborhoods of La Boca, Parque Patricios, Barracas, Bajo Flores and Lugano patrol works, administrative procedures and judicial support”, the minster said according M24Digital.

“2,500 agents from Gendarmerie and Prefecture and 400 from federal Police will stay in these zones. We are talking about 3,000 agents when before there were just 1,400”, Garre added.

“All the federal resources of security are combined to get a major police presence in the street, which one of the axes of the ministry politics,” she said.
