The “Leonas”, Argentine team of Hockey, will play the final of the Champions Trophy

Today, the Appeals Committee of the International Federation of Hockey, sentenced a law that benefited the Argentine National team, and now “Las Leonas” will play the final of the Champions Trophy against Netherlands.

The access to the final depended of the matches won, and the authorities had only taken into account the matches of the final round, which harmed our team. But a ruling of the Committee counted all the matches of the tournament and so the Argentine national team has more than Korea.

Marcelini, the Coach of the Leonas spoke with M24Digital and said that “there was a bad interpretation of the regulation. So we appealed to the court, integrated by three members of the International Federation, and our right to play the final was recognized.

And he added “the regulation is very confusing. It should be modified to avoid confusions in the future when we have to take this kind of decisions”.

When was questioned about the mood of the Argentine players, the Coach said that “they were not in the final, but now they are. This affected them in a positive way and the justice gave us the right to play the final of the Champions Trophy. We had three matches won, one tied and one loss, and Korea had only one match won”.
