Argentina, July 2, 2011

Today was held the presentation of candidates of the Union for the Social Development, where the presidential candidate Ricardo Alfonsín admitted that Cristina Kirchner takes the lead in the polls. But he added “we have four months to turn over this situation”.

It took place in Mar del Plata and was dedicated to the presentation of the candidates for the USD, headed by Alfonsin and Francisco De Narváez.

The presidential candidate admitted that he may not defeat Cristina Kirchner, because the difference is huge. Anyway, he showed himself optimistic and argued that he does not trust in the government’s surveys, because they have too much similarities with the numbers of the INDEC.

According to his own polls, Cristina Kirchner would have the 38% of the votes, while he may reach a 14%. Now he expects to shorten the difference in these four months before the elections.

Francisco de Narváez, candidate to head of government of the province of Buenos Aires, also spoke and said that he’ll continue giving social programs but also argued that they have to be improved. He committed to reform the education and also to give people with less sources the chance to have their own home.

Sources indicated to M24Digital that there were present legislators from the Nation and from some of the districts of the Province of Buenos Aires.
