LAN and Aerolineas Argentinas flights suspended again
BUENOS AIRES, June 24, 2011
Aerolineas Argentinas and LAN suspended flights due to the presence of Puyehue volcano ashes in the area of Bahía Blanca, making it impossible to completely secure conditions for the transfer of passengers.
The National Weather Service reported that visibility was reduced at 8 km in Bahía Blanca due to the presence of volcanic dust, with a wind blowing from the southwest at 30 km per hour.
The cancellation amounted to two flights of Aerolíneas Argentinas and two others of LAN that were planned for the morning and evening. Respective companies will issue statements to report on the rescheduling of flights.
The announcement was made official by the Commander Espora Airport, located in Bahía Blanca city.
