Binner: “The dollar does not have to be stopped like the one for one”
City of Buenos Aires, June 13, 2011
The candidate for President of the Progressive Front, Hermes Binner, spoke about his view of the economy. He promised “reliable numbers” and said he can not have the dollar “slowed” as in the “one for one.”
The governor of Santa Fe said “I do not believe that the dollar has to be slowed for many years as the situation we lived during the one for one (the ’90), but I think of a quick change of the currency would be highly detrimental to the country.”
Also, Binner said that “we must have reliable numbers to raise confidence in economic activity”, referring to government intervention in the INDEC.
On this issue, he added that “employers require us constantly the need for legal certainty (…) If we have clear rules, we can build the confidence needed for investment there.”
