Socialism formalizes the presidential candidacy of Binner today

City of Buenos Aires, June 11, 2011

Today, the congress of the Socialist party will formalize the candidacy for President of Hermes Binner. It will be the second time in history that socialism leads a presidential list.

In the restored Hotel Bauen, nearly 500 national representatives of the Socialist Party will meet to “discuss” the national situation, the policy of alliances and the nomination of the governor of Santa Fe

While it is expected that there is unanimous support to the plan that appeared within Progressive Front since the break with the UCR, Binner’s candidacy, the Socialists meet the typical routine for accreditation and political discussion.

What is not defined is who will accompany the governor in the formula. The major candidates are Victor de Gennaro (Popular Union) and Margarita Stolbizer (GEN). The socialist will have the last word, and weigh in the negotiations and their statements in favor of the former UCR.
