“I would vote for Cristina,” said Menem

LA RIOJA, May 29, 2011.- In the context of elections in the province to choose a new governor, former President Carlos Menem said he “would vote for Cristina” next October.

He considered that President Cristina Kirchner is the “most qualified to hold office” and no doubt that she will win the election in the first or second round.

He was highly critical with the opposition (of which he allegedly belongs to) stating directly that “there is no opposition” and all its representatives “are widely dispersed.”

Despite these statements, Menem said that “he is not functional to the ruling but his homeland.”
