Das Neves: “We created a very dangerous precedent”

Province of Chubut, May 9, 2011

The governor of the province of Chubut, Mario Das Neves, said today that his party will not appeal the ruling of the Superior Court which calls for complementary elections for 1,937voters.

The provincial leader said: “We will not go to the Supreme Court, we will accept the verdict. We want to vote as quickly as possible, and tomorrow I’ll make the call for May 29.”

His party, the PJ-Model Chubut, would have won by 401 votes over the Front for Victory, but there are 1937 votes challenged.

“It seems that it was we who said no to the complementary elections, but they there were renowned constitutionalist saying it too. We understood that it would create a dangerous precedent,” Das Neves claimed.
