Diego Torres will be the composer of the American Cup official song

The Argentine singer Diego Torres will be the composer and performer of the official song of the Copa America Argentina 2011. The announcement was made by Horacio Gennari, member of the organizing committee of the competition.

Through his Twitter account, he said “it’s an honor to announce that Diego Torres will be the author of the official song of the Copa America”.

“Diego Torres we want to thank you! Not only for your talent … also your love for soccer and American land! As director of the America’s Cup Committee is a honor to announce that you’ll be our musical ambassador around the world. Thank you for your love football!” he added.

Diego Torres will sing the song on July 1, in the stadium of the City of La Plata, as opening of the cup and before the match between Argentina and Bolivia.
