The United Nations called for “complete and accurate reporting of the facts” of the early morning of Monday 2 May. “Everyone has the right to know what happened, “they claimed.
Navi Pillay, High Commissioner for Human Rights of the agency, said: “I think not only my department, but everyone has a right to know what happened.”
“The United Nations condemns terrorism but there are basic rules to be observed also in conducting counterterrorism operations,” she said.
“This should be based on respect for international law, which does not allow torture and extrajudicial executions,” said Pillay.
On this day, Pakistan said it had not been alerted by the United States about the operation that ended the life of Osama Bin Laden.
