Celebrations held in the 25th anniversary of Chernobyl

Several ceremonies are being held recalling that 25 years ago humanity saw the tragedy of Chernobyl’s nuclear disaster.

The ceremonies began on Tuesday at 1:23 am local time, when the explosion of reactor four of the Chernobyl plant happened, causing biggest nuclear disaster in history.

The explosion spread a radioactive cloud over much of Europe.

At an international conference in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, millions of dollars were pledged to build a new structure to close the damaged reactor.
