Immediate bank transfers in pesos start today

BUENOS AIRES, April 25, 2011.- From today it goes into effect the provisions of the Central Bank, “the new transfer system in pesos between customers of banks, which are made by ATM or internet, that will be credited at the time ‘, as M24Digital reported before.

Until Friday, the transfer takes between 24 to 48 hours.

The Central Bank informed that “The payments made electronically (ATM or Internet) will be credited to the beneficiary’s account at the same time they are sent.”

“The measure applies to both individuals and corporations and has the limit of 10 thousand pesos when made through ATMs and 50,000 when done through the internet (home banking).”

“Meanwhile, the transfer in dollars will be immediate from May 31 and its limits are 2,500 and 12,500 respectively. The Central Bank expected to raise the limits in the future.”

“The operations performed electronically amounting to 10 thousand dollars a day are free, meanwhile the electronic transfers in amounts exceeding 10,000 may have a cost (applied only to the excess over $ 10,000) that will not be able to exceed 50% of the maximum fees laid down for transfers made over the counter.”

“These caps are 5 pesos for transfers of up to 50 thousand pesos, 10 pesos for operations between 50 thousand and 100 thousand pesos and 300 pesos for when it is over 100 thousand pesos.”
