De Narvaez and Alfonsín about to reach an agreement in the Province

Province of Buenos Aires, April 20, 2011

The sectors of Ricardo Alfonsin in the UCR are near an agreement with the candidate for governor of Buenos Aires for the Federal PJ Francisco de Narváez, as admitted by the son of former president.

Sources indicated to M24Digital that the sectors of Alfonsin have begun to doubt the ability of Margarita Stolbizer to win the governorship of the province of Buenos Aires.

The candidates who seek the UCR would come from the Civic Coalition or the Federal Peronism. Yesterday, the party president Angel Rozas said it could be “De Narváez or Juan Perez.”

Meanwhile, Ricardo Alfonsin said that “if a dissident Peronist sector can be reached and there are important discussions about our national program and are determined to join, then we will discuss this possibility with the GEN, with Socialism and the Encuentro Popular.”

The biggest drawback would be the damage this action might have with the relationship between the UCR and the center-left sectors of the Progressive Front.

Stolbizer already gave the refusal to grant agreements with the right-winged parties and opposes to the collector, so a membership list with De Narváez seems ruled out, the sources added to M24Digital.
