Cobos and Alfonsin define the electoral structure of the UCR

BUENOS AIRES, April 20, 2011.- UCR presidential candidate Ricardo Alfonsin received this afternoon Vice President Julio Cobos in the party’s National Committee.

The purpose of the meeting was to shape the ballot ahead of elections in October to discuss state policies.

“I want to strengthen our coalition, with socialism, with the GEN and other political forces” Alfonsin said after the match.

One of the agreements focus on the Civic Coalition, led by Elisa Carrio, who Alfonsin winked her stating, “I am optimistic” about a rapprochement.

“Always in a self-critical sense, I wonder why they left the Civic Agreement, but never found a reason to justify that decision,” he added.

Former president’s son also said, “We have been demanding that among all political parties we be able to provide some key issues. One thing is policies state and other electoral arrangements.”

Julio Cobos said for his part that it was “necessary to return to this agenda scheduled for December. Our presence implies a commitment to the party. The message also includes Ernesto Sanz sector to work with us. And we will support the candidate that is defined for the October elections.”

Also he recognized that there is a request to head up the lists of candidates for deputies in Mendoza, but he said that it will be defined by consensus.
