Macri seeks legitimacy to get the Federal Police with a plebiscite

City of Buenos Aires, April 9, 2011

Chief of Government of the City of Buenos Aires Mauricio Macri evaluates a series of measures to get the so wanted move of the Federal Police to his control. The plebiscite would be simultaneously with the elections.

As M24Digital could find out, the PRO seeks to take two birds in one shot: By one side, to increment its numbers in security forces and provide a better image facing the elections of this year, and for the other, to avoid the political move of Nilda Garre of sending more Federals into the streets.

The date of the plebiscite has not been set yet. Talks are about having it with the elections on July 10, although others insist in hurrying it up to count with the Federal Police before mid year.
