Libya: NATO appoints Canadian general to monitor no-fly zone

On Friday, NATO appointed a Canadian general to monitor the no-fly zone and an arms embargo on Libya which was authorized by the UN.
Major General Charles Bouchard of Canada is the one who will be commanding the Libyan air space surveillance, as well as naval patrols in the Mediterranean.
The United States Army, temporarily continue to manage more aggressive operations against ground forces of Muammar Gaddafi.
According to the BBC, “The commander of the U.S. military mission in Libya, General Carter Ham, said that” operations should be carried out precisely to protect civilians. “
Meanwhile fighting continues between rebels and forces loyal to Gaddafi to control Ajdabiya, strategic city in the east, and Misrata in the west. “
