The “xxx” domain now exists

United States, March 18, 2011

Against the will of pornographic sites, beginning today, the Triple X domain exists, as regulated by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

The porn industry groups were against the “xxx” as it would lead to higher costs andfacilitate the establishment of filters.

Diane Duke, executive director of the Free Speech Coalition (FSC), said: “they disregarded the overwhelming opposition of the industry and the interests of freedom of expression online.”

Companies comprising the FSC will have to invest a larger amount of money to have their site registered, $ 60.

Anyway, the ICANN ensured that no adult content company is obliged to change its domain.
