Uruguay’s Nacional fans caused incidents downtown

City of Buenos Aires, March 15, 2011

A group of 300 fans of Uruguay’s Nacional Football Club, which faces a Argentinos Juniors, cut off the Avenida 9 de Julio. The police evacuated and there were incidents.

It seems that the ”fashion” of cutting the July 9 has hit hard in Montevideo as, following in the footsteps of Peñarol, the fans of ”El Albo” cut off the avenue today.

The Federal Police was ordered to evacuate the street and the race began. 100 people rushed down Lavalle St. regardless of anything. They threw a woman who fell and hit her forehead, and is now receiving medical care.

Update: The police has arrested two men, and the rest of the “demonstrators” were scattered. The situation is under control.
