Tragic accident in southern Brazil, 26 people dead

According to reports coming from Brazil, “At least 26 people died this morning in an accident between a truck and a bus in the state of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil”.
The incident happened on the highway BR-282, in a place known as Descanso, between the towns of Sao Miguel do Oeste and Maravilha, about 650 km from Florianópolis, the capital of Santa Catarina.
According to the newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo, “The company’s Nyland Turismo Ltda bus, from Horizontina (Rio Grande do Sul), was carrying at least 47 passengers”.
And that “there were traveling members of a bowling club that had departed the city of Santo Cristo, in the neighboring state of Rio Grande do Sul, and were heading to Pato Bragado (Paraná) to play a friendly tournament”.
