City of Buenos Aires, February 25, 2011

Presidente Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner met with her pair of Uruguay, Jose Mujica, in the presidential House of Olivos. There, they discussed an energetic agreement and the possible modification in the exchange taxes between the two countries.

In the meeting, the leaders of Argentina and Uruguay agreed of hiring “a regasification service of 10 million cubic meters a day, expandable to 15 million, as of 2013 and during 15 years”.

Then, the presidents addressed the subject of the exchange taxes the National Government imposed on foreign products. The Uruguayan delegation expressed they felt “discriminated” since the only country exempt of the payment of these taxes is Brazil.

After the meeting, Mujica and Kirchner headed to the inauguration of the Casa Patria Grande (Big Nation House) in the 9 of July Av., where President of Paraguay Fernando Lugo expected them.
