The copyright of the image of “El Che” will be returned to the Guevara family

Irish artist Jim Fitzpatrick, who was in charge of reproducing the most famous image of Ernesto “El Che” Guevara, said he will demonstrate his rights on the photo to then return the copyright to the family of the diseased revolutionary.

Fitzpatrick will ask for the documentation that proves that he owns the copyright of the image with the objective of stopping its “crude commercial use”.

The Irish, who gave free authorization for the reproduction of the photo of “El Che”, will then travel to Havana to deliver the documents to the Guevara family.

“I just want to deliver it to the family and let them decide what they want to do, I caused the problem and I’m looking for the way to amend it”, Fitzpatrick said.
