The oldest prosthesis of the world was discovered
Egypt, February 16, 2011
Investigator Jacky Finch discovered the oldest prosthesis of history when she investigated a mummy with an artificial toe on each foot.
The medical tool that seems to us very modern and usual was already used in the Ancient Egypt. The Egyptologist Finch managed to prove this as she found two artificial big toes in a 2.600 years old mummy at the Egyptian Museum of El Cairo.
According to the investigator, the Egyptians used prosthesis since 600 BC for those who had had amputated limbs.
