One of the world’s smallest babies survived after being born weighting 272 grams

In the Special Care Baby Hospital of Dortmund, Germany, Mary was born after 24 weeks gestation, with 272 grams and measured 22 centimeters.
The little girl was born five months ago, and she’s already at home with her parents. She is considered one of the world’s smallest babies.
Mary was recovering in the hospital till reaching weight similar to a normal baby, 2.49 kilos.
Dr. Dominik Schneider, Director of Pediatrics at the Hospital of Dortmund, explained that “she was monitored at the clinic and the baby was fed through tubes, now she is developing very well”.
The doctor pointed out that “the first meal eaten by Mary was half of a milliliter of milk from its mother, which took her 10 minutes”.
