House hit by lightning in Quilmes
Buenos Aires Province, January 19, 2011.- A house in Quilmes city was the target of lightning that destroyed the slab and the eaves and is now in danger of collapsing, according to Civil Defense (DC).
The house is located on 4596 Emilio Zola St., Buenos in Quilmes city.
Fortunately, no fatalities or injuries were reported by the meteorological phenomenon, although the National Weather Service alert on possible thunderstorms and hail that continue for the capital, the north and east of Buenos Aires province, the center and south of Entre Ríos and south of Santa Fe.
Authorities advise people not to walk in the rush hours of the storm.
In Buenos Aires City, the Ministry of Environment and Public Space (APRM) issued a statement warning that “the strong winds can topple trees, also because of its high concentration of humidity, are likely recipients of electric shock.”
