Copa del Rey: Same as Tevez, Messi had a goal and missed a penalty

Lionel Messi’s Barcelona lost a record of 28 games unbeaten falling 3-1 against Betis in Copa del Rey. The Golden Ball Lionel Messi, as Carlos Tevez yesterday in FA Cup against Leicester, made a great goal and missed a penalty. However, Barcelona advances after the 5-0 in the first leg.

Betis surprised Barcelona and at minute 7 was already winning 2-0 with goals by Molina.

Messi scored a great goal taking the ball with a ‘hat’ above a player and finished between the legs of the goalkeeper.

Arzu scored for Betis in the end of first half but the four goals Betis needed to reach semifinals never came.

In the second half, the Argentine forward was tackled in the area and the referee whistled penalty. But the best player of the world missed it putting the ball almost in orbit.

In addition to the 28-game unbeaten streak, Barcelona received three goals in one half after 154 games. Finally, the Spanish leader hadn’t lost against a team of second division from the October 27, 2004, when they fell to Gramenet by 1-0.
