The toast of Messi (see video)

January 11, 2011.- The recent winner of the Golden Ball Lionel Messi celebrated on the plane that took him to Barcelona with his teammates, among whom was Iniesta and Xavi, the other candidates.

The delegation was divided into two planes: in the first there was executives and guests and in the other players and their families.

All eyes were on Lio, who with his wonderful humility and greatness dedicated his award to his colleagues: “I want to make a toast for Xavi and Iniesta, because even though I won the award, they deserve equal or more. So it is for them.”

Xavi and Iniesta were greeted with a big smile the words of the Argentine and toasted and posed together for a historic photo.

The press and many Spanish expressed their disagreement with Messi as winner of the prize, because they consider it “unfair”. Many predicted that Iniesta would be the big winner.
