Héctor Timerman, Argentine Foreign Minister met with the secretary of state of the United States for Latin America, Arturo Valenzuela, in order to review issues relating to bilateral and multilateral negotiations of both nations.
After 11 am in his office on the 13th floor of the embassy, Timerman received the U.S. official, after meeting with his Brazilian counterpart Antonio Patriota.
The two officials met for an hour and discussed issues such as cooperation on nuclear issues, combating terrorism, among others.
Timerman had advanced last week in reference to this meeting that Argentina would urge the U.S. official about the need for the opening agricultural markets.
And he said “we will address issues on the bilateral agenda and, especially, Argentina will insist on opening up agricultural markets that remain closed for the country”.
At that time the Argentine foreign minister had also declared that “they’ll discuss other issues relating to the nuclear sector and multilateral relations. There are many things to talk with the United States”.
