Pete Postlethwaite died of cancer at age 64

According to sources close to the British actor Pete Postlethwaite, he died at age 64 after a long battle against cancer.
Postlethwaite, was part of blockbuster films like “The Name Of the Father” which led him to an Oscar nomination in 1994, “The Usual Suspects” and “Romeo and Juliet”.
Andrew Richardson, a journalist and friend of the actor said “Postlethwaite died in hospital in Shropshire, England, after a long illness”.
Pete Postlethwaite was awarded in 2004, with the Order of the British Empire and several times his name was among the candidates to win the BAFTA awards from the Academy of Cinema and Television in the UK.

PP was my favourite actor. I always had a smile of recognition when I saw him on screen – just briefly, before he got down to business and blew me away with his latest intense performance. For me, In the Name of the Father will be his great role, although I could watch his incredible few scenes in Amistad again and again. And Brassed Off. And The Usual Suspects. And Last of the Mohicans …
