Queues and prices: The odyssey of refuel gas in Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires, December 28, 2010
It continues in Buenos Aires the shortage for gasoline, which causes thousands of drivers making long lines to refuel their vehicle. The high demand last week and the wrong forecast of oil companies cause chaos within days for the New Year and the beginning of the holidays.
Lines of up to 200 meters at the few stations that still have fuel, coupled with the intense heat and raise in prices, the cocktail is an odyssey for drivers.
From last night and early today to get gasoline is an adventure. Most stations only have diesel or GNC (Compressed natural gas). Super and Premium gasoline seem to worth its weight in gold.
Oil companies said they will normalize the situation next week. However, they made no comments regarding the price increase already seen in most service stations.
