The situation of the detainees for the crime of Mariano Ferreyra will be known this week
Argentina, December 26, 2010
Last Tuesday, the members of the trial extended their arguments before the Chamber I of the Court that from that day had five days to issue on the proposals of the lawyers for the seven detainees and of the complaint.
Luis María Bunge Campos, Jorge Rimondi and Alfredo Barbarosch, will settle the orders this week because the deadline of five days ended and also they were the judges who heard the arguments of the lawyers and are expected to be the ones who issue the sentence before the end of the year and the arrival of the fair judicial summer.
In the case there are seven detainees who are the delegate of the Union of Railways in Roca, Pablo Diaz, the hooligans Cristian Favale and the “clown” Gabriel Sánchez, and the workers Juan Carlos Pérez, Salvador Pipitos, Jorge Gonzalez and Armando Uño.
All are accused of homicide, attempted homicide and aggravated coercion in the context of a “common plan” or “criminal agreement” that happened that day.
That plan, according to the judge, was intended to prevent the protest of the Workers Party which ended with the murder of Ferreyra and wounds to Elsa Rodriguez, Nelson Aguirre and Ariel Pintos.
Last Tuesday, the entire defense requested the release of the detainees, and criticized the decision of Judge Wilma Lopez, which was branded “arbitrary” for its lack of evidence.
