Argentina, December 11, 2010
Timerman, Argentine Foreign Minister, today received a handwritten letter from Hillary Clinton to the President Cristina Kirchner, where she apologized for the leaks of secret cables released by WikiLeaks.
In the letter, Clinton thanked Cristina for having “avoided comments” on the cables leaked where she called for “Cristina Kirchner’s mental health.”
Timerman met with William Burns, Secretary for Political Affairs of the U.S. State Department and clarified that “it was a very friendly meeting, where he also apologized for the situation of WikiLeaks”.
Burns also told Timerman that the Secretary of Clinton’s State Department thinks “much more” with and for the Latin American region, according to trusted sources.
