The company ‘Papel Prensa’ is raided

Buenos Aires, November 30, 2010.- Comptroller General’s Office (Sigen) President Daniel Gustavo Reposo confirmed that raids are carried out in the frame of Papel Prensa case.

The case arises from the report of the Ministry of Internal Trade, based on information provided by Jose Pirillo, former president of La Razón daily and former shareholder of Papel Prensa, in terms of “the existence of central intelligence who worked with the judges to see how much money they spent.”

In addition, the company is accused of “obstructing systematically the work of control to be met by members of the Audit Committee of the company, the only one in which the state has a majority.”

There is also a removal order that points to the following Directors: Alberto Maquieira, Raúl Aguirre Saravia, Jorge Alberto Bazan, Daniel Fernández Muñoz, Guillermo González Rosas, Julio César Saguier and Jorge Carlos Rendo; and General Manager Jorge Noseda.

Consequently, Reposo said that “police kidnapped the entire directory books, meeting minutes, audit committee and other documentation, for reasons related to false statements.”
