Diego Forlan, the best sportsman of the year

November 23, 2010.- Uruguayan striker of Atletico Madrid Diego Forlan received the Man of the Year 2010 award for Best sportsman delivered by GQ Magazine.

The award was given in the Palace Hotel in Madrid, where several journalists were present.

Diego Forlan received the award that already was delivery to Antonio Banderas, Pedro Almodovar, Tommy Hilfiger and Ferran Adria, and among athletes, Lionel Messi, Fernando Torres, Iker Casillas, Robinho, Tom Brady and Bradley Cooper.

The Uruguayan player said, “Join my name to others as Raul Gonzalez, Iker Casillas or my fellow Kun Aguero is something that fills me with pride and encourages me to continue fighting in the future.”

“2010 will always be a special year for me because it’s a season we I have achieved many successes both collective and personal level. We were able to reach Europe League trophy and the European Super Cup. Also I have personally enjoyed of awards such as the World Cup Golden Ball and other awards like tonight. “

“I would not have them without the help of my colleagues, family and all the fans who are supporting me always and I offer them this award.”
