Djokovic lost in Paris and now thinks of the Masters in London

The last champion of the tournament in Paris-Bercy, Novak Djokovic, was disqualified today after falling over local Michael Llodra 7-6 (8), 6-2. Fernando Verdasco and David Ferrer were also left out.

For the party of the second round of Paris, the defending champion, Djokovic, facing France’s Michael Llodra. While his participation at the Masters in London was secured, it appeared that the Serbian would seek a win to repeat the post on the podium.

However, the strength of Llodra was more and Novak was left out in two sets. “It is never easy or pleasant to lose, but I try to be positive by saying that this defeat will give me more time to rest before London (Masters),” said the Serbian.

Who also played were the Spanish David Ferrer and Fernando Verdasco. The first was defeated Jurgen Melzer 7-6 (8 / 6), 2-6, 6-3. Meanwhile, his compatriot was eliminated by Gael Monfils in a very tough 3 set match that ended 6-7 (4 / 7), 7-6 (7 / 2), 7-5.

Thus, Verdasco lost his chance of qualifying for the Masters in London, for which he needed to reach the final of the tournament. Not so was the case of Ferrer, who finally was able to secure his participation to the championship to be played on British soil.

Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Robin Soderling (from 1 to 5 of the world in order) were already assured of qualifying. With today’s results, the qualification of Tomas Berdych and Andy Roddick were secured.
