Cappa spoke: “I did not quit, I was fired”
City of Buenos Aires, November 8, 2010
The now former coach of River Plate Angel Cappa spoke after he was separated from the team. He denied rumors of a resignation and said that until now he was flattered to lead the players in the Superclasico (Boca-River derby).
In conversation with TyC Sports, Cappa said, “I did not quit: I was fired. I was not surprised, but do not like getting in the decisions of others.”
The former coach of River said he was surprised by the support of Daniel Passarella to the Board, which was willing to dismiss him.
“I’m not disappointed with Passarella. He hired me when it was difficult to hire. When a manager is no longer a player and coach” Cappa said.
“This team was in the process of training and had achieved 50% of the points, which is not bad” said former coach, but nothing can change what was done.
