Passarella decided: Cappa is out of River
City of Buenos Aires, November 8, 2010
After the defeat of River to All Boys, coach Angel Cappa made the players train behind closed doors. One of the aides said he will not resign. Today the Directive Committee, with the support of Daniel Passarella, decided to dismiss the coach.
Yesterday’s result beat the millionaires. Not only were they defeated by a team fighting the drop with them, but the victory of Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata left the club from Nuñez much more settled in the area of relegation.
That is why many have speculated Cappa’s resignation before Superclásico, before Boca. However, from the coaching staff it was said that he did not wish to leave the club.
The Directive Committee wanted the dismissal of coach of River urgently. The only thing missing was the support of the institution’s president, Daniel Passarella. Finally, the owner of the institution gave its support to the dismissal of the former coach of Huracan.
