March against crime wave in Plaza de Mayo
Argentina, October 8, 2010.- Last night, a crowd gathered in the Plaza de Mayo in front of Casa Rosada, calling on the authorities to take urgent action against the crime wave.
This protest was called by the parents of Diego Rodríguez, the model killed by two criminals trying to steal his truck in the neighborhood of Liniers on Monday. The protest was also called by the relatives of student Matías Berardi, 16, who was kidnapped and murdered by a shot in the back in Campana Town.
After the murder of Diego Rodriguez, there were other fatalities such as, Gloria Robledo, 33, in Flores neighborhood, and José Luis Musante, 42, in Villa Lugano neighborhood (Buenos Aires City).
Among the marchers was TV host, Maru Botana, who was there with her daughters.
Some people insulted President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and Chief of staff Aníbal Fernández.
Diego Rodrgiuez’ mother was received before the march in the Government House by Aníbal Fernández. However, she repudiated the term “sense of insecurity” that Fernández used. However she did not joined protesters intend to generalize the song of “that all politicians must resign” because she is not agree with revenge and hate.
“I do not want the death penalty, but I want to imprisonment for murderers, rapists, for these mother fuckers who take our lives. They should not see the sunlight any more, they have to suffer in jail,” she said onstage before the applause of thousand people in Plaza de Mayo Square.
