After rain delay, Nadal and Djokovic vie for first US Open Title

The United States Open men´s singles final between No. 1 Rafael Nadal and No. 3 Novak Djokovic will take place today, Monday, September 13, at 5 p.m.
The match, which was originally scheduled for Sunday, September 12, was postponed around 7 p.m. Sunday evening, due to heavy rain in New York City.
Nadal, a 24-year-old from Spain, is aiming to win his first US Open championship. If he succeeds, Nadal would become the seventh man in history to earn a career Grand Slam.
Djokovic, a 23-year-old from Serbia, is also trying to win his first US Open title to compound his Australian Open championship in 2008.
The two rivals have played each other 21 times on the ATP World Tour. Although Nadal claimed 14 of these matches, Djokovic proved victorious in the last three encounters.
On the women´s side, Kim Clijsters won her second straight open title in less than an hour. The No. 2-ranked Belgian defeated No. 7-ranked Vera Zvonareva of Russia in a swift 6-2, 6-1 match.
