Newell’s defeats Argentinos Juniors 2-1

Newell’s turned the match in the second half, when it lost 1-0 against Argentina. Vargas scored for local but Cichero and Rodriguez turned the story in favor of the team from Rosario.

In the first half Newell’s had two scoring opportunities: in the 10th minute, Ivan Borghello headed in the bottom left at the exit of a corner kick, while the in the 34th, Mauro Formica almost broke the crossbar.

In the second half, however, the scoreboard was opened for Argentinos with a goal of Gonzalo Vargas in the 17th minute.

But Newell’s was not far behind and recovered at 32 minutes, when it achieves the tie with a goal from Gabriel Cichero.

Shortly Rosario equipment made the difference. At 38 minutes, Luis Rodriguez scored by header after receiving a center of Luciano Vella.
