Velez risked the tip against San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo and Velez Sarsfield drew 0-0 in the Nuevo Gasometro by the sixth round of the Apertura 2010. There was not a clear dominance of either, and now Arsenal de Sarandi may be the only team in the first place.
The group led by Ricardo Gareca tried to impose its game against a San Lorenzo in a reconstruction. However, the good tactical set up raised by Ramon Diaz was able to halt the advances of the rival’s forwards and have a mild to offensive.
During the first half, Santiago Silva and Juan Manuel “Burrito” Martinez were completely overshadowed by the “azulgrana” defense. Anyway, at ’40, the “Burrito” could have scored with a header, but he shot imprecisely.
A minute earlier, Juan Carlos Menseguez placed a strike near the post but finally diverted.
The second half showed the two teams in far more conservative lineup. Betting at chances with ball stopped, both the players of Diaz and Gareca adjusted their defensive lines and attacked cautiously.
