NASA will get closer than ever to the Sun

It was reported from NASA that “there is a plan to send an unmanned mission in order to approach to the Sun closer.”

And that “the Solar Mission Probe Plus (SPP, for its acronym in English) will start in 2018 and will fall directly into the Sun’s atmosphere.”

With this mission they will find “direct information for the first time on the sun’s outer atmosphere that is at temperatures above 1400 ° C ‘.

They also explained that “the SPP will be equipped with a device such as a heat shield, a particle detector and solar wind a 3D camera that will capture images in an area where no one or nothing has reached.”

The U.S. space agency NASA said that “the project is extraordinary and historic.”

Richard Harrison, solar physicist at the Rutherford Appleton laboratory in Britain for the BBC said that “We think of approaching spacecraft to Venus or Mars but t the Sun everything is very different due to high temperature and distance.”

“The next generation of spacecrafts will approach high temperature areas for solar study.”

Lika Guhathakurta, part of WPP, said that “for the first time we touch, taste and smell our Sun.”
