Chavez will offer Maradona to be coach of Venezuela

Even though Venezuelan and Argentine press has not given much importance to the matter. Hugo Chavez would offer Diego Maradona to be Venezuela National Team coach.

“Maradona called me, who is coming to the country on Monday or Tuesday. He said he wanted to visit us. I said I wanted to play a football and a softball match, and he told me: ‘Done’,” Chavez said.

If this version is true, the Maradona and Grondona meeting scheduled for this Wednesday would be delayed further and Maradona’s future remains uncertain.

Venezuelan sources indicate that Chavez, who called Maradona a “distinguished Latin American”, plans to offer Diego Maradona to lead the National football team of his country.
