Venezuela: Simon Bolivar remains exhumed to confirm the cause of his death

The corpse of the Venezuelan hero Simon Bolivar was exhumed today in Caracas. Authorities try to find out whether Bolivar had died of tuberculosis in 1830.
The Interior and Justice Minister Tarek El Aissami, and the General Attorney Luisa Ortega Diaz, plus 50 experts participated in the scientific process that lasted 19 hours.
The exhumation of the Venezuelan leader seeks to clarify the reason for his death. The minister made clear that the process was carried out in compliance with all international protocols of science.
Luisa Ortega Diaz said that “significant findings” were found in the process.
Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez addressed the issue through his Twitter account: “Hello my friends. We have experienced incredible moments tonight. We have seen the remains of the great Bolivar,” Chavez said.
